Why Playboy Has Banned Nudes

2015-10-13

PLAYBOY willno longer run nude pictures on the pages of the magazine, it hasbeen confirmed. The publication, which launched in 1953 and had itsheyday in the Sixties and Seventies, already made the move on itswebsite earlier this year - resulting in a leap in traffic fromfour million to almost 16 million unique users a month - and nowthe print version will follow suit in the hopes of boostingsales.
The idea was conceived by one of Playboy's top editors,Cory Jones, and pitched to Hugh Hefner himself at the Playboymansion. Hefner agreed, The New York Times reports, and as aresult next March will see the launch of a redesign that will stillfeature "women in provocative poses" but no full nudes.
"That battle has been fought and won," Scott Flanders, thecompany's chief executive, told  The New YorkTimes by way of explanation. "You're now one clickaway from every sex act imaginable for free. And so it's just passéat this juncture."
The change will also be visible in the kind of shots used in themagazine, which are set to be "cleaner and more modern" using amore "intimate" and less produced style of shooting, akin to thoseseen on Instagram - and while there will still be a Playmate of theMonth, it's unclear whether the centrefold will continue toappear.
"Don't get me wrong. The 12-year-old me is verydisappointed in current me," Jones - whose idea the move was -added. "But it's the right thing to do."

Johnny: I Don't Want An Oscar

2015-10-13

WINNING an AcademyAward is seen as the pinnacle achievement of any actor'scareer, but Johnny Depphas revealed that he isn't interested in the slightest.
"I don't want to win one of those things ever, you know. Idon't want to have to talk," he said as he promoted his new film,Black Mass - in which he plays notoriouscriminal Whitey Bulger -  at the BFI FilmFestival in London. For Depp, it seems, acknowledgement from theAcademy is reward enough.
"They gave me one of those things, like a nomination, twoor three times. A nomination is plenty," he added, referring to hisBest Actor nods for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse ofthe Black Pearl in 2003, Finding Neverland in 2004and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in2008.
"The idea of winning means that you're in competition withsomeone and I'm not in competition with anybody," he continued, reports Newsbeat. "I just stick to my guns and dowhat I want to do. Sometimes people don't like it but that'salright."
But, while Depp himself is nonplussed about winning an Oscar, his daughter Lily-Rose may have different ideas. The 16 year old iscurrently pursuing her own acting career and is slated to appear inno less than four films in the next year - and it's taking somegetting used to for her father.

"John and I are so happy to announce that we arepregnant," Teigen said, accompanied by a smiley face emoji. We're soexcited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your loveand well wishes. I look forward to all the bellytouching!"
Teigen and Legend, who met in 2007 and married in 2013,took the decision to open up about trying to conceive in order tohighlight the potential problems in the practice of always askingcouples when they planned to have children.
"I will say honestly John and I were having trouble. Wewould have had kids five, six years ago if it happened," she saidin her role as a panellist along with Tyra Banks ontalk show The FABLife. "We've seen fertility doctors andonce you open up about those things to other people you learn thata lot of other people in your life are seeing these people and theyhave this shame about it. It's kind of crazy because I can'timagine being that nosy to be like, 'So, when are the kids coming?'because who knows what somebody's going through? So anytimesomebody asks if I'm going to have kids I'm just like, 'One dayyou're going to ask that to the wrong girl who is really strugglingand it's going to be really hurtful to them and I hate that. Stopasking me.'"

Reem Acra Unveils Bridal Selfie Sticks

Reem Acra just sent its fall 2016 bridal collection down the runway, but there was more than just gorgeous gowns to take in at the show. The models also showcased what appear to be specialty wedding-themed selfie sticks covered with glitter, sequins, ribbon, and bows. There was also the unusual addition of similarly designed headphones with tiaras affixed to the headbands, just in case you've realized you hate the wedding band you hired last minute.
The development may be new to the bridal industry, but fashion has welcomed the selfie stick with open arms. Pucci printed the selfie-snapping device on a dress, models used the sticks to take pictures on the runway during Dolce & Gabbana's spring 2016 show, and designer Zana Bayne developed harnesses to carry selfie sticks. The devices have also been included in fashion editorials, like Interview magazine's July editorial simply entitled "Selfie" and a Vogue video where Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid used selfie sticks.

Happiness Is NOT Feeling Great

 happy is beautiful

Happiness Is NOT Feeling Great

Life comes with ridiculously exuberant highs and the most dreadful, sorrowful downs. What goes up must come down. The bad times are necessary, to put the good times into context and give them meaning!

Even the happiest people will have times of struggle and despair. But the difference is, they don’t STAY in that state. They experience it, and then return to their “baseline happiness” as quickly as they can.

What Happiness IS

Happiness is a choice. It is…
  • A choice to appreciate what is, right now, in your life experience.
  • The ability to see the silver linings in adversity.
  • Being filled with wonder at the tiny things and the big things, not being jaded and bored.
  • Noticing and appreciating the many small miracles that occur every single day.
  • Taking good care of yourself so you are healthy enough to enjoy life.
  • Loving yourself for who you are.
  • Giving of yourself to others.
  • Giving your attention to the good instead of the bad.
  • Being grateful for what you have, instead of eternally longing for something you don’t have.
  • Enjoying the moments, for what they are, as you go about achieving your goals – including appreciating the delicious feeling of eager anticipation.
  • Knowing that life is constant change, and that change can be as exciting and delightful as you make it.
  • Choosing to feel Love, even when people around you are focused on all things negative.
  • Choosing to feel connected (feeling Oneness) rather than feeling separate and isolated.
  • Seeing the world with the eyes of a child, unclouded by prejudice and limitations, and open to new experiences.
  • Using your imagination to create an inner world of beauty and abundance rather than giving precedence to an outer world of lack and worry.

Like Abraham Lincoln said, “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

So, happiness is a choice… not so easily made if certain things are missing in your life.

Not material things. Not experiences. Not people. Definitely not money.

The things that are missing if you’re unhappy are gratitude and a deliberate positive outlook.

If you’re grateful for what is, you appreciate it, you are happy. If you’re choosing to see the silver linings and you choose to see with fascinated eyes instead of jaded eyes, you are happy.

Who is John Assaraf? I'LL TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT HER

2015-10-14

John Assaraf is an unstoppable entrepreneur, bestselling author, speaker and mindset expert who has helped millions to live their best lives through retraining the way their brains process information.

As the CEO of NeuroGym, a brain research company, John focuses on brain retraining techniques, and the best way to use them effectively. He believes that by reshaping the way our brains think, we can fix broken thought patterns – just like you would retrain a muscle after injury.

By using a series of powerful mental techniques, John has shown people how to remove blockages that prevent them from getting what they want – and living the life they deserve.

However, while he lives a life full of abundance and success, it wasn’t always this simple.

During his school years, teachers wrote John off as an underachiever, and even his parents didn’t expect much from him.

When John was still a kid, his parents moved from Israel to Montreal, Canada. Along with the culture shock, John had to learn how to speak both English and French, and he found himself struggling at school, despite trying his best.

Throughout his teen years, John was also constantly getting into trouble at school. His father, a taxi driver, had to pick him up from these meetings with the principal, which resulted in him losing money from the cab fare. His father subsequently took his frustrations out on John – in the form of violent physical beatings.

Despite his strained relationship with his father, John threw himself into something he was good at and passionate about – sports. This outlet was the one thing that saved John from going down a bad path, and it set the tone for his future success.

While his father always had low expectations for him, John went on to become a worldwide proponent of cutting-edge brain retraining techniques, transforming the lives of thousands.

These days, John is a leading behavioural expert who shows others how to reshape their lives by changing the way their brain processes information.

You can see this firsthand from the way we changed his life from one of misery to one of ultimate abundance.

John’s techniques focus primarily on our thoughts, and how we can use them to channel what we really want.

As a key player in the phenomenon The Secret, he knows all about the power of the mind to manifest our greatest desires in life.

John has appeared on numerous TV shows to discuss his methods, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Larry King Live, and Anderson Cooper 360. He has authored two New York Times bestselling books, The Answer and Having it All, and travels the world extensively to give lectures on the role of neuroscience in peak performance.

But most importantly of all, he has helped so many people to transform their mentality – and their lives.

“The most wonderful gift one human being can give to another is, in some way, to make that person’s life a little bit better to live.”

Our next Mindvalley Academy Masterclass features John Assaraf on “How to Win the Inner Game of Wealth.”

Some Helpful Advice on How to Practice Effective Meditate Despite Our Busy Lives

Some Helpful Advice on How to Practice Effective Meditate Despite Our Busy

 when ml is good?

Use these meditation practices to intensify your focus, stimulate the flow of life-force energy, silence the mind and much more.

Focus on quality over quantity. You don’t have to spend hours every day in meditation. 10 minutes of intense focus is better than an hour of frustrated fidgeting and internal battles. If you can only manage a few minutes of focus at a time, you’re still benefiting, and you’ll be more likely to come back to the practice the next day if you leave it on a positive note.

1. Posture

The traditional cross-legged meditation position has several advantages. For most people, using a meditation cushion is beneficial as it positions the hips higher than the knees, preventing circulation problems.
  • It provides a stable foundation that allows for the free flow of energy through the seven chakras in the body (chakras are energy centers; blocked chakras result in a host of physical and psychological problems).
  • It allows your spine to be upright yet supple. Sitting with proper posture allows for open breathing and doesn’t constrict any blood flow. Ironically, sitting upright with your spine curved naturally takes far less muscular effort than sitting hunched over or stiff as a board!
  • If your knees protest at sitting cross-legged, try doing it on a softer surface like a couch or bed; or, sit in a chair with your feet flat on the ground and spine unsupported by the back of the seat. You can also meditate lying down on a yoga mat, but beware, it’s very easy to doze off in this position!
  • Your hands can rest on your thighs, or you may wish to use one of several “mudras” or hand positions to stimulate the flow of energy. One popular mudra involves putting your dominant hand palm up in your lap and then putting your non-dominant hand on top of it, also palm up so that the dominant hand cradles the non-dominant hand. Lightly touch the thumbs together.

2. Intention

Meditation is a process of self-discovery. It can, and will, teach you the inner workings of yourself, but only if you are willing to let go of timelines, agendas and hurry.
The process of self-discovery is not always easy. The discipline you need to sit silently and observe your thoughts (or silence them entirely) can be an exercise in frustration. Disempowering ways of thinking will come into your awareness, and they are uncomfortable and unpleasant. But, once these thought patterns are identified, they become easy to discard.
Therefore, set your intention to simply be an observer of whatever happens. Don’t try to control your breathing or to force yourself into immobile stillness if you’re fidgety. Observe, allow and be interested in your inner workings, many of which are manifested in physical sensations! What’s going on inside is truly fascinating!
Don’t expect anything, just be open to what will unfold. Simply observe. That’s all. Let whatever happens, happen. Don’t judge what’s happening, and don’t worry about whether you’re “doing it right.” You are meditating correctly if you are aware of what is happening within you.

3. Focus

Pick a point of focus. It could be a mantra, an object (physical or mental image of something), music or your breath. Having some point of focus will help you keep your mind from wandering so that gradually you develop amazing mental self-mastery.
Use this very effective technique to deal with thoughts that arise: If your mind is very busy, you might have a torrent of thoughts vying for your attention and it might seem impossible to slow the rush. Practice a “catch and release” technique where you become aware of a thought, and let it pass without becoming entangled in it.
Imagine yourself sitting at a cafe on a busy city street, watching traffic and people move by. Imagine your thoughts to be the hustle and bustle of the city. You see a taxi and watch it drive past you and out of sight; you see an interesting person and watch him walk by; you see a pigeon, a bus, a cyclist… and since you’re only observing, you don’t stop them so they can interact with you. Do the same with your thoughts. Observe without reacting to them in any way. Even if you have an unpleasant thought about your ex, just think, “I’m having a thought about my ex” and let it drift away.
To silence your thoughts entirely takes practice. You can do this through breath focus as well as a simple command, “Be still.” As you focus on the marvelous experience (the miracle!) of the breath, your mind will wander. When it does, acknowledge the thought and immediately bring your attention back to your breath with a “Be still” command. It will take time, but you’ll notice that the moments of pure silence get longer and more frequent.

4. Practice

The best way to get the most out of a meditation practice is to set aside time daily for it. It need not be a lengthy meditation – just 15-30 minutes of “me time” is plenty. One of the best ways to ensure you can fit it into even the busiest schedule is to wake up 30 minutes early and go meditate before you do anything else – a peaceful way to start the day.
You can take a meditation practice along with you as you go about your day. Anytime you find yourself in a stressful situation, use a countdown to get yourself into a meditative state very quickly – this will soothe you, prevent emotions from escalating, minimize the “fight or flight” response, and give you a chance to gather your thoughts so you can respond rather than react.
Over time, you’ll get to know your inner mental and emotional workings very well, and you’ll gain mastery over your thoughts, enabling you to make choices that are aligned with what you want in life.
